Good High Rate Savings account that sends and receives fast payments

    It would be great if the guys at MSE could put together a list of all Online Savings Accounts which offer Faster Payments, and whether these are in, out or both.

    From these boards and other people I know who have tested faster payments -
    Able to SEND
    - HSBC (including First Direct)
    - RBS (including NatWest)
    - Barclays
    - Tesco

    Able to receive
    - HSBC (including First Direct)
    - RBS (including NatWest)
    - Coventry BS
    - Egg
    - Tesco
    - Northern Rock
    - Newcastle (but doesn't show online until next day, though with previous day's date)

    These are only listed where it's actually been tested, not just announced by the bank.

  • if you got a lloyds/ tsb current account, and you got a coventry savings/ current account only worth it in the first year as you get the bonus,

    they both accept faster payments.

    lloyds/tsb classic plus 6% at the mo by the way.


    Be carefull Toytown are very slow at transfering over the internet to TESCO BANKING.
