i would run it on a hot wash cycle, don't add normal detergent, but use a couple of tablespoons of distilled white vinegar (the clear stuff you buy in the supermarket for on chips!)
don;t worry - it won't smell of vinegar and should sort things out. if you want when you run teh cycle put in half a lemon for a lemo fresh scent.

I'm sure some kind soul will come along with an OS way to get rid of the pong, but supposing they don't you can buy some stuff called "Washer fresh".
I'm not sure if you can use it in dishwashers, but there's sure to be a dishwasher version.
Failing that, Finish do a dishwasher cleaner. You put it in the cutlery basket and run a cycle (no dishes, so it seems like a waste!) It will clean the interior beautifully.
Incidentally, have you made sure the filters are clean?:wave:0 -
You could try a hot wash with some washing soda. Someone once told me it was the same as the stuff they sell as 'dishwasher cleaner' and I use it for a boost in the wash.0

I put mine on a hot cycle with soda crystals now and again, also, check and clean the filter and around the door seal, that can get a bit gunked up.0

I find that using hot wash while doing the dishes at least once a week keeps the smell away. No need for extra cleaners or an empty wash cycle. Also clean the filters regularly.0

Thanks guys..it's 8 months old and used usually once a day on a hot cycle so shouldn't think it needs much attention! the filters are regularly cleaned too so i will give the vinegar a go! thanks again.0
