Thank you for this, i have just bought this car (2003 plate 1.6 Zetec) with 36K on the clock.

It has had all it main dealer services, however, I am weary of these and would like some help as to what I should do.

The car needs a service and i have a local garage who can do this, what should i tell them to do............if i goto a main dealer it would be £232+Vat for the YTS to change the oil

Ask them to service it to manufacturers recommendations and then give them the service book to stamp

Thanks, I have a quote from a main dealer at £232 + VAT or a local garage at £120.87 inc vat.

Both will do the service as per the manufact spec and stamp the book so all is covered there......

But the standard service spec doesnt change the Spark plugs, fuel filter, change cam belt...

What i am looking for is what should i get done..........never nind the ford book......
