Hi - no its a Scenic (I think) the smaller 7 seater. She has 3 kids, 1 dog and it getting a roof box. Its amazing what you talk to neighbours about at the weekend!
We have a Galaxy which is the same sort of size to the Espace. My OH needs this for the school run as she picks up SIL kids as well. It is a "x" reg, 80k miles, starts everyday and does a job but is quite expensive to run. Plan is to just keep running it for as long as possible

    Hello Hawthorn,
Good luck with what you are doing, you remind me of myself in many ways. I haven't defaulted on my Mortgage or in big trouble yet but like you I can see that trouble could be ahead for my family unless we cut back. I am not in real crisis but this situation affects people around us too. I usually try to help out my mother who is on a state pension and who struggles. My husband is thinking of getting rid of his car for something small or even a motorbike. We also smoke and I guess it does seem like madness to all the non smokers on the board. Its hard....

Keep going with the money saving,

I finished my pack of cigarettes today, and I am avoiding the shop so I'm not tempted. It's only been a couple of hours and already I feel antsy. I'm useless LOL.
I need to do this though, big time.

You can do this, just find something to distract you from thinking about cigarettes!

  • Hi Hawthorn,
Pop on over to the Stop smoking thread it great place to try and give up. Last week I was rambling on about rubbish everytime I fancied a smoke, and it must help because Im still smoke free, the main reason I do have to say is the finance or rather lack of finance.:rotfl:

Got a quit meter on my desk top that tells me how much I have saved everytime I log on, one week and a day down and have saved £42.55:eek: its only scary when it starts to add up.

Off for a bit of a ramble now:rolleyes:

Oooh, where did you get the quit meter from? I could do with one of those. I haven't seen the stop smoking thread. Could you point me in the right direction please? This board is HUGE!

Wow, I just got that silk quit meter. According to that (though I've saved a little more because I didn't buy my pack as usual this morning) I have saved.....39p and five minutes of life LOL. I like it!
