What's the best way of paying utility bills?

Bet they're a lot bigger now! Yes we always overpaid D/D as well and they would just take the overpayment off the next bill. Never did like that - prefer to have our money in our accounts thanks. It suits us - but obviously doesn't suit you.
Just offering our reasons for avoiding D/D on anything that we can actually have control over what we use (gas/elect etc). Our savings using D/D have never been anything like yours, so our bills must be smaller. Would advocate paying monthly into a savings account to fund those winter bills if necessary.0 -
Yeah, the savings are still there, granted probably not as large as when EDF had their excellent tariff. £74 however is still a fair saving and one I wouldn't miss out on, even if it was only £20 saving, I'd take it.
Yes, our energy bills will be higher from now on, though I took the gamble with EDF and didn't rate-fix - it paid off, this time I've took the gamble with Scottish Power and decided to go for fixed-rate 'til end of Feb 2008.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
