Britannia £20 M & S voucher offer

Britannia have written to us today offering £20 of M & S Vouchers if we top up our savings account by £1000 before the end of September. They pay pretty poor interest rates and this offer appears to be aimed at specific customers, so according to their guidlines, there appears to be no reason why we shouldn't top the account up by £1000 in the last week in September and withdraw it a couple of weeks later, after they've sent the vouchers out. My maths arn't terribly good but I guess the £20 would still be a better deal than any interest we lost on this amount in the meantime by temporarily withdrawing it from another account.

What?
Isn't the Britannia Members Reward a sufficient incentive :rotfl: ?0 -
Must be a "mutual" version of a "rights issue". :rotfl:0

is this offer open to anybody? thanks in advance.0

Don't the offer is open to all. Our letter said it was only being sent to certain existing investors..0

i will email them a say if i open a new account with 1000 pounds can i have the £20 m a s vouchers, nothing to lose.0

First sentence of their letter reads.....
"I hope you've already noticed that we always try to give you a fair deal at Britannia."
Last para overleaf reads....
"This is an exclusive offer for specifically selected group of existing members, so we are afraid not everybody is eligible."
Readers can judge whether they think it is fair.
Me ? Its going straight into the bin.
I'd use about £20 of petrol driving to the nearest M&S, to buy stuff that I can probably get cheaper elsewhere !! And I'm not sure whether or not the £20 might theoretically be taxable, as it is clearly in lieu of (better) interest !

If I was one of the lucky customers (I don't appear to have been targetted unfortunately) I would seriously consider taking them up on their offer if the terms quoted are accurate and just selling the vouchers on EBay when (if) they arrive.Up Tipp!0 -

Vouchers arent usually taxable, would be interesting to know what type of member they are targetting, whether its certain areas of the country or certain balance levels.
I wonder if Brittannia have been reading the ING incentive posts. :rotfl:
Petrol vouchers would have been a better idea IMO. :rotfl:0
