Morning
Received letter from EQUITA with a 7day Removal Notice for an council tax bill from a flat i lived in 3 years ago.
What i need to know is were i am now is my partners flat and all is in her name with the council.
I stay with her and we are not married and i am not on the electrol roll were i am.
Do EQUITA have any rights to remove goods when nothing in the premises belongs to me and the rent book is in here name with council.
Please advise as got 4 days left
Regards
Minty

Number one - have you informed the council that you live with her if she is getting any benefits?
If you live in the flat whether or not you are on the electoral roll or not then yes if they have a court warrant to cease your goods then thy can enter - they can bylaw only take what YOU own, but proving to them that none of her goods belong to you could be... interesting...
My advise would be to contact Equita and try to set up a repayment plan with them explaining that you don't have any goods for them to cease... How big is this debt?
Also get in contact with CAB ASAP - they are a great source of help!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I have just spoken to equita at they were so rude they say i cannot make a payment plan with themself and no bailiff has been issued even though the letter say there has.
Also she said cos i am so rude she is gonna issue a bailiff and to make payment as and when i can.
What do i do now ...........the debt is for around 8000 -
I have responded to your question on another thread.0
