Prices will fall by 50% in four years

a certain Financial Advisor I worked with, back in early 2006. After a bit of a hiccup in his own affairs, he was forced to sell his house, after which he announced that he had sold his property and was going into rented accommodation because the sky was going to fall in - sorry - the property market was about to crash!
Sound familiar?
I don't suppose his name is Jonathan Davis by any chance. :rotfl:
But actually, this bit intrigues me.....as I understand it, he is amongst those who frequent these boards calling for the price of properties to be reduced, and continuing to talk them down .....
Come on, who is it?:D“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Don't know the first person, but my motto is "no names, no packdrill"!:rotfl:0 -
Having googled Jonathan Davis, person I'm talking about is definitely a disciple0

Oh come on.....
Do you know the screen name? Care to give us a clue?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Why Hamish, so you can rub their noses in it ?
Aren't you a little bit better than that ?"There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."
"I could play all day in my Green Cathedral".
"The Centuries that divide me shall be undone."
"A dream? Really, Doctor. You'll be consulting the entrails of a sheep next. "0 -

Pretty much, yes.Aren't you a little bit better than that ?
Nope. Not really.
Discovering which of our regular 'financial advisors' is only talking down the market because of being forced to sell their house due to a "hiccup in their personal affairs" would be a particularly tasty morsel on the Schadenfreude buffet.
Of course, very unlikely it's only one....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

You will see over the next few months that 50% falls in house prices will increasingly spoken of as reality sets in. Inflation is rising and the days of low interest rates are over. That means traditional lending again which will bring prices back to normal.
:j
So are you still holding out for 50% falls in the four years from June 9 2008 brit?
How are prices in your own local hood of Chelsea doing?
Are they up or down by 50%???
Here's a clue:0 -
This thread is a classic.
Prices in Brit's area up massively since he posted this.
And national UK prices down more like 5% than 50%.
Out by a factor of 10..... Wow.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

At least the poster took a stab at making a prediction. I've seen far too many post predictions for "some point in the future", without nailing themselves to an actual date (makes it easier to continue to say "it's coming", and "it can't stay like this forever").
Personally I stopped trying to predict the housing market moons ago.Legal team on standby0 -

The issue is not the poster taking a stab at making a prediction, it surely brings an element of comedy to the forum.:) But despite being proven wrong time and time again, he doesn't learn from his mistakes and continues to offer disastrous advice to would be home owners in the house buying section.
Here's what he posted on the house buying board just recently:Best avoiding homebuy/firstbuy full stop they are a scam. Save a bigger deposit over a couple of years and enjoy the house price falls.
Worst advice ever in an inflationary environment with all house price indexes in the black.
I just hope no one ever acted on his 'advice'.
