TalkTalk are cold calling me upto 3 times a day

Options
I signed up to a TalkTalk call plan over a year ago. My line rental is still with BT.
In the last couple of weeks TalkTalk are ringing me everyday (Mon-Fri) trying to sell me their line rental. I tell them im not interested, but they keep calling. Sometimes upto 3 times a day.

When im not home, the calls are a real nuisance for my elderly parents.

I called their customer services dept and asked them to stop calling me, but its made no difference.

I signed upto the Telephone Preference Service thinking that would stop them, but because im an existing TalkTalk customer, the telephone preference service cant do anything to stop their calls.

Im in a good mind to cancel my TalkTalk call plan and switch to another provider even if its more expensive. But I dont want to sign upto a new 12 month contract as im thinking about moving within the year.

Does anyone know what else I can do to stop TalkTalk from pestering me with their calls.?

  • I'm getting this too. line rental with BT. Told them my broadband connection is in contract so not interested in switching and I'll be honest next time and tell them I use 18185.co.uk for mobile calls which TT will block if my line rental is with them.
If they keep this up, I'll leave them!

I got plagued by a 0115 number. Googled it and found it was Jigsaw Insurance Marketing calling on behalf of Talk Talk. Emailed them a few times asking for removal and no response. In the end I called them and asked to be removed from their database and the young lady who answered was very polite and efficient. No more calls from them since,

why not put something in writing? and just to say its not cold calling as you have given your number to them in connection with your calls.

I called TalkTalk, a last ditched attempt. No surprises when the agent told me he doesnt know who in his company is calling and cannot do anything to stop it.
I noticed on their website theyve also got an opt-out of marketing calls utility where you enter your account number and thoeretically they wont call anymore. I filled that out again.
Also called the Telephone Preference Service who told me what I already knew that they cant do anything because Im a TalkTalk customer, however they also told me that I should contact the Information Commisisoners Office on 08456 30 60 60, because its possible TalkTalk are not controlling my personal data correctly if they dont know whom they are passing it onto.
I called the ICO - they advised I write a letter to TalkTalk and make a written declaration that they add a note to their computerised records stating I no longer wish to receive marketing calls. I should address it to the Data Protection Officer and send it by Recorded delivery. Will do that and wait and see if the calls stop. If they dont, then call back the ICO and see what they say next.

When BT called trying to flog me something (after I'd explicitly asked them not to), I stopped the caller mid-sentence and very forcefully demanded to speak to a supervisor.

Supervisor apologised profusely and said no more calls would be made.

Get sh1tty with them - it's the only way.

tell them to wait while you get the person they need to speak to. or tell them you're a tenant and your landlord won't let you change.

unfortunately that only works if you have no links to the company, the OP has a phone service through Talk Talk so the TPS is useless
