How to mend a hole in a tent?

It's only 2-3mms big/small in one of the door flaps.

Is it a canvas or nylon tent??

Either way you can buy a patch kit and glue from any camping shop..

Or even put a blob of silicone sealant on it and let it dry..

Millets will sell patching kits if you want to do it neatly.

You can buy silicone sealant from places like BandQ, its the stuff you use to seal around your bath/sink and comes in white or clear.

If you put some tape over the hole and then put a blob of silicone on the other side it should seal it forever.
Take the tape off once the silicone is dry.
( I would practice on a peice of card first , its messy stuff and wont come off once its on.)

Silicone is quite expensive though £5 a tube, and you only need a tiny blob. so if you dont already have some in your shed, it may be cheaper to get a proper patch.

Ah thats good we have some sealant in the garage so no worries with that. Will look into patches too. I feel a bit daft as its a tiny hole but you never know with british weather!

We used the tin of stuff to seal it when we first brought it. I got OH to blast it (literally lol) with the hose pipe last night I was sat inside watching the holes. Nothing came in though so I guess its ok. But being a fussy ole' woman I a'int happy with that and want to fill it up or take something with us when we go incase we need to!

I was thinking of re-spraying with the sealant again. How often do you need to do that or does it only need to be done when you first buy the tent?

Puncture repair kit(for bikes). Our last tent had many holes repaired by this method. We had a drunken incident involving a camp fire and an, Air guns, gas cannister. Those were the days!
