Can anyone recommend best value tyres for car?

My son who is at university needs to get 2 new tyres for his Fiat Punto. Does anyone know or can recommend where he can get the best value tyres, are mobile tyre fitting services recommended and does anyone know if students can get discount?:hello:

I went to kwik fit and they quoted me £180 for two front tyres for wifes meriva, got them from big city tyres for £120 and could have got them for less but we went for good quality. So judge for yourself where I wouldn't recommend shop around.

    I regularly use http://www.tyre-shopper.co.uk.

Thwy always have a good range of tyres at the lowest prices and the price you see is the price you pay.

    Hope that this helps

if you can beat the price at www.etyres.co.uk I would be very surprised. Fitted your doorstep or place of work, usually next working day.

Service has been excellent every time that I have used them

    I would recommend to all

You'll probably get the Mods to shift this post into motoring, but here's my suggestion...

www.justtyres.co.uk they have an online extra 5% discount, plus a downloadable extra offer - usually a £5 voucher, I think. They also have an extended warranty, for their being a fault on the tyre, for 5 years. But not a likely occourence.

You will need to know the size of tyre, rather than just the make of car. You can get this information on the side of the tyre itself. Something like a row of big numbers say, 155 65 13 V or similar. It is important you get this information correct - including the last letter - so you know you are comparing prices properly.

www.mytyres.co.uk & www.blackcircles.co.uk will give bigger choices & more prices.

As for mobile fitting, or on-0line buying & getting them fitted yourself, it hardly seems worth the effort, plus you'd be in an awkward position if there was a problem. You would have to prove it to be either the fitting station, or the supplier.

I went also to quick fit and they told me my second stage tail pipe muffler box) was rusting and only has a very short time left and that I should change it now as i'd get that current offer. I did not change it and is now 2.5 years later and still passes the mot and has not needed replacing.confused-smiley-013.gif

GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)

nankang ns2's are great for the money, on my last celica i went through 2 sets before i wrote it off, my currant celica came with yokohama's and don't find them as good. once in the wet, when they need replaced its back to the ns2's for me.

https://www.mytyres.co.uk is a great site , used them about 4 times now and always delivered on time.
