My 2year old £50 kettle has started to leak , I never have much luck when I buy Kettles some are usually too heavy noisy or slow to boil . I thought I would ask everyone for their ideas on a Stainless or brushed aluminium Kettle that will give me rapid boil, is not too noisy and isn't too heavy
Thanks

I've gone through a number of kettles and toasters - ranging from cheap(ish) to over £30. And I've come to the conclusion that they're never going to last in my house. I fancied a stainless steel one but as my toaster went kaput the week after my kettle started leaking I went for the cheapest I could find. Got a nice black and grey set from Asda for total of £17.98. Quite retro looking and very smart. The kettle is very fast - a good pourer and easy to fill, doesn't steam up the kitchen like the last one either. The toaster has features such as reheat and fits warburtons bread and bagels.
  • my previous 2 kettles were branded Breville (i liked the style) both of them were stainless steel and rapid boil, both had to be replaced as they leaked. water and electricity dont really go together. so I thought I'm not spending that much again, so ended up buying a <£20 from Asda, and forgot to check the specs, and its not a rapid boil. it amzing how much slower it is, talking about waiting for the kettle to boil.

'rapid boil' and 'not noisy' are incompatible features ... You cannot have it both ways ...

Advice required please. Cordless electric kettle

I've got a Brita filter kettle. It came in normal and rapid boil versions when I got it and I got the rapid boil one. It doesn't make too much noise, it's fast and it filters the water so no scale ever - not a spot in 3 years. Plus you can turn off the filtering and boil the kettle when it has just enough water in it for your needs so no wasted electricity.
I've heard of a few people having problems with these kettles long after the warranty was up and getting free replacements from Brita as well.
    I'd buy another any day.
