Help! where to start

My financee recently lost her father and I have been helping her mother with some of the paperwork and financial matters after such an event. She has now been left about 300k and her house and is not sure what to do next. She has a financial advisor, but would like to get some external advice as well and is not sure where to look. She is coming up to 60 this year and is still working. Could someone point us in the right direction? thx

    What kind of advice?

The best advice is to see an Independent Financial Adviser and not one from a bank.
