Sunday 8/06/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Anyway today i have/will
  • Checked internet banking
  • Clicks
  • Storecupboard lunch
  • Working in veggie garden
  • Spreadsheets and budgets to update
  • Get DS to wash my car for free
  • Finish cleaning house with stardrops and microfibre cloths
  • Cook tea for oldies tonight and eat for free:D
  • Make a loaf in breadmaker

  • Morning sophiesmum and everyone! It's absolutely gorgeous weather here too. Found some more flowers on my tomato plants so getting excited :j

    So far I have
    • ordered train tickets 3 months in advance and got quidco 1.08 validated already - 18 pounds each to go to brum from london, not bad at all :D
    • checked internet banking that my pal's money for the train tickets went in
    • updated sheet - didn't spend anything last night as my friend shouted my drinks for me, what a sweetheart :A she says that I bought her way too many before I changed my ways :o !
    • had a little chat with my chilli plants - they need to start earning their keep
    and I will
    • only spend on my sunday paper (I should be able to live without sunday times style magazine but I can't!)
    • meal plan
    • try not to cry that I just broke my two best habitat wine glasses at once with an epic washing up incident involving enormous pasta bowls  so cross with myself.
    • do the amazon listing and credit card things I said I'd do yesterday but then my friend came round early so I couldn't
    Think that's it!
    have a lovely day

Morning sophiesmum, claireabelle and all, :hello:

You are making me jealous growing all those veggies - mine are usually well on their way by now, but because of moving I haven't done my patch this year :(

Anyway, what a lovely day today!natur008.gif

    I will:

Do a load or 2 of washing on 30 degrees and line dry
    Update my spreadsheet with spends
Do meal plans and online shop to be delivered tomorrow (awful having car off road!)
    Daily clicks
    Check for mystery shopping
Avoid shops by sitting in garden and reading!:T

Hope you all have a terrific Sunday!:T :T

Shame about your wine glasses...I was gutted when I broke 2 large wine goblets within a few days of each other:mad: (you could get almost half a bottle of wine in one if you were so inclined:p ;) obviously I'm not that kinda girl:o :rotfl: )

Right, I think it will be just a lazy day here as weather looks a bit dodgy:rolleyes:
I'm going to wash bedding on 30 wash and if it stays dry I will peg out:A but otherwise it will dried on radiators/clothes horse:rolleyes:

HI everyone, weather here is lovely, not doing much, apart from sitting in the garden reading my book. Thought i would just post,as i did miss posting on here yesterday. I known this may sound daft, but i feel like i know you all,the way we talk about what is going on in our life and i find this thread very suportive and encouring.

Yesterday i went shopping with the girls, only bought what i needed and used gift vouchers and coupons off,so did not spend too much.Very pleased with my buys,in the past i would have spent so much more. DH gave me money for my lunch and afternoon coffee and bought me chinese for tea.

    today i have
    -NSD.
-put loose change in sealed pot.
    -washing on 30,drying on line.
    -read book,friend gave me.
-Filled in application form for job at work, which is a perment position and more money. Will keep my fingers crossed.

    Today i will
-make lunch for work(not looking forward to first day back at work.)
    -will do surveys and comps.
    -dinner from meal planner.

Thats it for now, going back to the sunshine,i have really enjoyed my lazy day.

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon

    Hey all

    Today I have:

    - line dried washing
    - had store cupboard meals
    - read freebie magazine I was given rather than buy a paper
    - priced up the last few bits in need to take to Camp America (leaving in 12 days!) to find the cheapest and will buy them in the week

Enjoy the rest of the weekend

    Evening all,

    My dfw things for today:
    • did 1 load of washing at 30 degrees and line drying
    • Asda - used money off coupons off my magazines etc
    • Found 5p
    • Got DS his usual sausage roll from Greggs 54p but used 30p luncheon voucher
    • Returned the 5 lots of album pages I brought from Boots with points which wasn't really what I was looking for. Male SA mucked up the transaction and had nearly left me walking out with just 7p left in points  Just as well I checked! When he finally refunded all the points he took off instead of putting on I was left with what I had actually came in with in the first place. Stood my grougnd and explained to him what he had done. Finally he added it but ended up giving me 7 points extra. I didn't bother telling him to take it off as I could tell he just wanted rid of me.
    • Posted off Ebay item sold yesterday.
    Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)
    Boots points: £0.28
    Pigsback points: 715 (4 xBoots£10 & 1 xPizzaHut£10, 2 x £10 clothing vouchers)
    Mutual points: 3417 (redeemed 8250)
    Rpoints:redeemed 28925 points)Cashbag:£8.91(£20)
