Deposit Withheld Because of Items the Letting Agent Removed

    Just to conclude this thread.
    The LA finally returned the deposit.
    They went 50/50 with the LL.

    I was advised to take them to court for the deposit and compensation for their failure to register the deposit within the allotted time. It was felt that the court would entertain this even if I had not initially used arbitration through the TDS.

    Thank you to all that responded, it was great to get all the quality advice.

    Well done. Some LAs are just daft trying it on in some cases.

    So are you going for the compensation for the LA failing to protect deposit properly?

    I never really understood what this dispute was about, OP had paperwork confirming that these items were removed with the inventory clerk as the witness. There was no dispute.

    The LA seem incredibly inefficient. If it was me I would take them for the 3x to teach them a lesson to learn how to do their job and to save anyone else all this trouble who do not have the benefit of advice on here
