According to ASDA. it is.
I've just gotten over a bout of this chest infection/man flu' bug that's been doing the rounds, so I thought I'd better use some of the little energy it's left me with replenishing the supplies - not that I've eaten much over the past week.
As I'm off work, I used a different branch of ASDA, so had to rely on the signs over the aisles for navigation.
All went remarkably well, until I came to try and find a packet of dried pasta in sauce. The aisle with the sign saying both "Pasta" and "Pasta Sauce" seemed to be a pretty sure bet, but - alas - no.
I did ask, but as the answer was "It's in the freezer section", it was pretty clear that I was on my own. So I started a systematic search of all aisles. As the title intimates, I finally found it ... right under the sign saying "Tinned Meat" and "Tinned Fish".
I'll let you know what ASDA's explanation of their logic is.

The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

So you think one whole aisle should ONLY have tinned meat and tinned fish on it? In my Asda the Pasta and Sauces, and the packet couscous stuff is on the same aisle as the tuna and corned beef too...
I never thought it was really worth a rant.
I suppose the problem is there is so much processed rubbish like Pasta N Sauces that they no longer fit on the aisle with the plain dried pasta rice and cook in sauces... My Asda does seem to put all the processed carp in one place.. Pasta N Sauces are pretty near the Cup a soups if I remember rightly.
What I can't work out is Sainsbury's putting vinegar and pickles above ice cream.0 -

the reason why pickles are over ice cream is down to the layout HO want the store to follow, its just how it is
to the OP, they obviously couldnt fit the dried pasta on the same aisle as the other pasta, its not really a rant though is itNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
If you mean those little pot things you add water to, I'd expect to find it next to the Cup-a-Soups and Pot Noodles, aka the instant proccessed crap section.
I think it might be helpful to note next time that supermarket taxonomies are not exhaustive.By replying to this post you are agreeing to my Terms and Conditions which state that I am correct0
