need advice - had a car accident

Hi i am new in this forum and really desperate for advice
I had a RTA 9 days ago, and it was not my fault. The guy who hit me accepted that it was his fault.
My car damaged but not really bad boot floor damaged, bumper light, boot, anyway. Insurance company sent engineer to storage place where my car was kept, the engineer came but never called me to unlock car for him. He did report and sent it to my solicitor.
He valued my car £4000 and he said that car is repairable and repair cost is £2500. I think repair cost will be higher.
My car is on finance and outstanding balance is £4000.
I don't know if insurance will write my car off or repair, and if its get written off so how much likely i will get
Thanks

If you are fully insured and the insurance company accept that it is cheaper to repair than write off then they will take care of all that and usually give you a list of approved garages to choose from. The car will then be repaired and your only loss will be your excess charge, unless that can be recovered from the other driver.
If the car is a write off then they will make you an offer for it, if you think it is too low you can argue with them and prove that other identical cars routinely fetch more locally in private sales than the offer you received. They may up their offer or they may not.
Again though any offer they make will be reduced by the excess unless that can be reclaimed from the other driver.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
