Is a Sky box with no dish any use?

We've already cancelled our Sky subscription because it's just not worth the money for us any more, and we're moving home.... Is there any point in keeping the sky+ box when we move? Will it be of any use at all without the dish?

you cant use the box witout a dish poitning at the correct sats, you could get a freeview card from sky for £20 and then get a new dish setup by an independant installer and then having freevew that way. you wont get sky plus recording tho, only subscribers ger that. You might be able to sell the box tho, do you know the model number?

The ' box ' will only work with a matched LNB, the LNB unit is located at the centre of the dish, it's were the co-ax gets connected to , doubt if it has any value, without the LNB.

You cannot get " Freeview " via any satellite, that is via a TV Aerial only, you can get " Freesat from Sky ".

No need to buy a card, just use the old Skysubscription card for free channels, that will work just fine.

Yes, a dish is required.

Not quite sure what you mean by a " matched LNB " ???

Any universal LNB will work, they are available on eBay for a few quid.
