My little boy goes horseriding, but I've signed him up to a stables who don't mind if you only go every few weeks or months. That way, he can still enjoy the activity, but we only go when the money is there and when is convienient. All stables have different rules on lessons, so it's worth shopping around.
Also, another organisiation that offers great free activities is your local wildlife trust. Just type your county & wildlife trust into a search engine for your local one. My children do great activities like pond dipping, rock pooling, mini beasting etc......all for free with guides who know what they are talking about and are extremely helpful.
Also, our local library has a weekly "baby bounce" - for free! and a storytime session that my two youngest children also go to every week where they have stories and make & do sessions.......all for free! They love it.
There are loads of fun, free & educational activities out there for children....you just need to golooking for them."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
By the way, I have older siblings and I wore passed down clothes. My mum discovered a Nearly New shop and clothed us in clothes from there - there was Harrods stuff for just a few quid cos someone had worn it once. We wore some great stuff and loved our clothes, got some quite trendy stuff too and shopped there til our teens much to my dad's horror!!! Mind you, this was 30 years ago or so, but I still shop in Charity shops and find some wonderful stuff.
The worst thing I went through was having to wear flares when they were so not trendy but...hey... they were good quality, and as my siblings had worn them they should be ok...but they wore them when flares were trendy!! Showing my age now!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

I work with 4 year olds, and they don't always look to be doing 'activities' that are paid for, like the horse riding.
They love doing things like, cooking (with you), painting (with you) dusting & polishing (with you) playing house/shops (with you), rolling down grass banks (don't do this if it's raining though:rotfl: ). I once heard it said that YOU are the most important toy that your child has, and I think it's true really.
try making mud pies, papier mache (we make scenery for our small world toys like dinosaurs this way)
local library usually has storytime, mums & toddlers groups. Playgroup - your eldest will be entitled to five free sessions a week, thats if you don't already go.
Locally a group has set up that charges £4 for half an hours 'messy play' - they can have a whole playgroup session for not much more than that:D0 -

Sorry just read your thread, I was too busy typing about hideous fashion.
My nephews go to the local country park and do butterfly counts, wildlife hunts, and orienteering spotting wildlife on the way. They love pond dipping and tadpoles. It's free and the wardens are experienced and parents go too!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
