USA travel - registration online Jan 2009 onwards

Hey folks
My family is going to florida with thomas cook next year and they wanted to fill out the form... only problem is thomas cook isn't on the airline list!

They called TC and were told that they can fill out the usual forms on the plane. Surely thats not right? What do you think they should do?

Right I'm off to the States next month, since the new ESTA online program doesn't start until Jan 09 can I ignore filling in the online form application & simply fill out the VW form on the plane like I usually do?

Then after the new year change over to the online form?

ive booked with virgin to go jan 09 , no mention about filling out any online forms?

I agree. Airlines and cruise companies should be definitely highlighting this website especially for bookings after 12 Jan 09 as you must do it online if you're travelling on or after that date. One thing that amazes me. If they want to beef up their security by making pasengers enter their travel details, why on earth don't they ask for a date of travel. When I put my flight details in, all they wanted was the airline and flight number!

well, you'll be ok for next month, but you may as wel do it online now as you'll definitely need to do it for flights after 12 Jan 09.
