can anyone tell me of good or bad views/experiences with the above please?
I have received notification that this is the model I am getting from my AXA sun life policy and quite frankly I am hugely disappointed but need to know if I have reason to be!
All comments really appreciated.

  • A late response but my sister has just had a very bad experience with this model so maybe others would like to know!

She has just been bought an A350 from Argos as a Christmas present. The first time she used it was on Christmas Eve, when she drove her new car back to Birmingham after picking it up from a dealership in Norwich. First it wouldn't recognise the postcode (possibly because the touch-screen interface would only let her enter part of it in lowercase? - when we tried it afterwards the postcode WAS listed but only if you scrolled down through all the B28 0... postcodes) so she had to enter the town, street name and house number. It decided that an address in SE Birmingham was actually in Glossop (which is east of Manchester, just over 100 miles from her intended destination) and and so it sent her there instead!

(She isn't the most spatially-aware of people, hence her eagerness to rely on a satnav and refusal to use a map; needless to say she is now the proud owner of an old-fashioned road atlas!)

She also found the instructions very difficult to hear, and had to turn the volume up to a level that distorted what was being said so that she could hardly understand it.
  • I have one of these and love it. Ive had no problems with the postcode facility and the volume seems ok.

It has the speed camera warning and the screen is nice and clear and easy to follow.

The only difficulty Im having is finding out where/if I can download updated maps

Id absolutely recommend the unit though - its great :)
  • I did look online to see if others had had similar issues but apart from a couple of corroborating comments re the volume I didn't find anything, so maybe my sister's was just a one-off dud.
  • I had one but plugged it into the car lighter and it set on fire. Apart from that i liked it and would get another. Hopefully that was a one off dud too.

Although late, I will offer my experiences. I got one a year or two ago and it was rubbish. It took me to Devon a route that I know was a long way (twice the journey length!) even after playing with the numerous options! It wont recalculate a route. In the end I took it back to Argos and changed it for a newer version....which was exactlt the same! Honestly, where ever I asked either of them to go they wanted to take me a different way to the most direct, or the fastest route! Horrible horrible thing, spawn of the devil!
