Can anyone advise on how long the process takes? Probate was sworn in 4 weeks ago, the banks have been written to, when can we expect the accounts to be closed? we are not sure how long to give them.

Advice would be appreciated, Lorna

It took just over a year from start to finish with me and it was a fairly straightforward case. I hired a solicitor as for me the fee was worth it for the hassle free way it was handled. I did need to keep tabs on him every 3 weeks or so to keep jogging him along tho:rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Thanks for that, didn't expect it to take that long. I need to be more patient. I have considered getting a solicitor involved, think it is worth it now.

When I had to do it it took 3 months. Very straight forward, no problems.

Ours took 3 months from start to finish - no solicitor. Some of the longer waits were for things like tax & personal/works pensions information.
