BT Phone line problem HELP

My Bt phone line is dead i have no dial tone on the phone. One strange thing is i can ring my number from a mobile phone and it rings but none of the phones ring at home. Does any 1 what the problem is. Iam stuck with out a landline phone cant get on the internet or anything.

Either your line card in the exchange is dead or you have a line fault, Have you reported it to BT if not here is a link: https://www2.bt.com/faults

When we moved into our flat our phone was dead. Turned out the 'code for our house' and the 'code at the exchange' were different. Took them weeks (more like a couple of months) to work this out. However, because it took weeks BT ended up giving up a huge pile of compensation in our BT account(as it was their problem and not ours). I can't remember how much it was, but we got a certain amount for every week that the problem wasn't fixed. Didn't pay a phone bill for ages after that.
