Hiya! Sorry if this is in the wrong place, i'm not usually on this thread! My Mum is buying a new car and as a result 10k is going on her credit card bill! Are there any good deals around that we could look at before she puts it on her normal credit card?
Thanks:)
Thanks:)

For that huge sum of money, I'll be looking for the best available Cashback or Reward cards out there instead of your 'normal' run-off the mill credit cards.
Why not try www.moneyfacts.co.uk for a start. I always use the website to search and research my financial products amongst others. Goodluck.Money is like a bird.....if mishandled, will simply fly away....0 -

Beware that Car Dealers often apply the 3% Merchant fee loading to the purchase price if you pay in this way.
A good cashback card would be a way to offset this additional charge. Currently American Express are offering 5% cashback for the first 3 months.0 -

hope this helps..
Virgin 15 months 0% with a 2.98% fee. Currently, the Virgin* card offers 0% on 'super balance transfers' for fifteen months at the cost of a one-off fee of 2.98%.
MBNA Platinum 12 months 0% with a 3% fee. The MBNA Platinum* will give you twelve months 0% on these transactions too, for a 3% fee.
Both MBNA and Virgin offers super balance transfer, where you can transfer cash to your current account.and you can use the money from your current account to pay for the car.Pay the credit card as normal..but make sure u pay every month atleast the minimum payment or else you will lose the 0% offer.0 -
Depends on whether the car company will charge you the 3% merchant fee. If they will then I'd go with the Virgin Money card and do a SBT to your current account and pay them from that - they're also pretty good with credit limits so half decent chance of getting the £ 10k credit limit depending on your circumstances.
If they don't charge you then I'd be tempted to go for a 0% purchase card to avoid the 2.98% BT fee - HSBC have a good 12 month at 0% deal. You'd buy the car on the card, take the £ 10k and stick it in a high interest current account to make you some interest (use full ISA allowances first, then Kaupthing Edge savings account)."A child of five could understand this. This one's been pulled now, CJ
Oh yeah, good call. Lucky I got mine when I did
Current best runner is the Cap One platinum card, it's 15 months too so potentially even better than the HSBC one at 12 months.
