i dont really have 7 kids or need a place of worship, just trying to wind conor up.
Good one, you fooled me as well :rotfl: I ignored the kids bit but religion and people getting better treatment because of it always winds me up
Good luck with the jobs, you don't need to justify your usage of JSA to yourself, you're entitled to it though it seems some of us feel guilty taking "free money" even though it's not in the slightest bit free. I always find it's the people that actually deserve the benefit that feel too guilty to claim for it, I always wait a while before I do for this reason (and because they make dealing with them such a stressful experience).0 -
i am unemployed or a scrogner as someone called us i also have disxsia whens means certans jobs i can`t do (beleave me i have tried factorys) i have gone though agenacys i found i was threat lower than low there have also done alot of work placements as well but i can never keep a permente job down dispite trying hard. i have a weight promblem as well which doesn`t help in interveiws.
you also tend to get stuck in a rot when you get rejected for the 100th time.
there are 3 typea type of jobseekers the spongers who see it as a an easy life, the grifters and the people who lost hope0 -
JSA = approx £60 per week
Housing benefit for rent = approx £55 per week
Total = £115 per week
Yes there are plenty of jobs out there at £5.50 per hour,
thats 37 hours x 5.5 = £ 203.50
- tax and national insurance = no more than £160 per week.
- transport costs etc etc. .
Yeah id work 60 hours a week if i was getting £10 an hour. Get in the real world.0 -
and thats if they get your tax code right ! !0

The problem is the recruitment agencies, too many teenage girls working for them. Too busy working out if they like the look of a person, rather than if they can do the job or not.0

I have only looked through half of this conversation but have to say i dont like your tone connor! u sound like your so mr perfect. i will tell you now i have been unemployed since jauary now after the buisness i was the manager of went into liquidation due to the owners being done for fraud. i have attended college, university part time evening course and doone serveral shorter courses including management all on my own with the effort of no one. i wanted to do something with my life and achieve something which i did i was the manager of the buisness for three years untill january. I have to been stopped my JSA due to my partner earing to much. he's not on a fantastic wage in fact 14.000 a year. i have applied for hundreds of jobs, from cleaning to managm, ent jobs and have no reply of most and yet have been un successfull in finding something. The job center in my local area are a utter disgrace to say they offer a service. they lower peoples self esteem and de grad you. i am no dole doser i worked for my life and bloody hard at that. so how dare you say people sit down and cant be bothered to find a job, its hard, depressing work. i now dont have enough to get through this month with money never mind next or the month after. and teh job centers answer to it is the council will put me in a house pay my rent council tax and so forth and give me food packages. work that out. im registered with 7 different agencies, monster, and fish4job, i look in the paper everyday, gumtree, sveral other sight and still nothing. the trouvle is there to many unemployed and not enough job. WELL done you for finding somewhere but i dont think you should be nasty with what you have said about this persons son you dont understand there personal situation. i said i never new how people can get depressed, now i do kinow from personal experience.l0

My husband was on a sickness allowance for 8 months and was signed off is nearly 63 yrs old and wants and needs to work he has disintergrated discs in his back but they werent interested so he was signed on for JSA after applying for 250 jobs they said he wasnt applying himself for enough jobs he also applied for training through the jobcentre but they still stopped his JSA even though he has enough NI contributions.
He has appealed but has been told it could take months so he is left with nothing not one penny yet before he was sick he always worked, the jobcentre never knew him. He has now to start training on monday next but has no money to pay his fares or to pay for his food while he is training. Im so angry about this because a family up the road has just been given leave to stay in this country they have a lovely council house free furniture and all their benefits paid yet not one of them has ever :mad:had a job????? I'm very worried about my husband because he is becoming very depressed about how he has been treated he has been left feeling worthless0 -
You do know this thread is over two years old, don't you??
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -

You would be better of starting a new thread in the benefits board. The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

The Jobcentre Plus website lists plenty within 20 miles of Birmingham listed this last week.
Excuses, excuses, excuses.
Have you applied for the factory process worker vacancies that the agencies are advertising for? Only qualification required for those is having a pulse and they're always wanting people.
I can guarantee you I can find you work within a week or a fortnight at the outside. Everyone who has said to me they can't find a job I've found them work within a couple of days.
Here you go..
No previous experience necessary as training will be given. Duties to include working in a warehouse, washing crates, loading crates into a machine and ensuring crates are clean. This position is based in Curdworth and is temporary for 6 weeks possible moving to permanent for the correct candidate.
You can apply for this job by telephoning 0121 5533388 and asking for Patrick Sistrik.
Off you go then...
