Wrong make of car on parking fine

I parked in a permit only zone today, by mistake, one side of the road was "you can park for 2 hours" and the other "permit only". I parked on the wrong side, so stressed. Got back to my car and found parking fine on it. Car reg was correct but make of car was wrong, I drive a Vauxhall Corsa not a Volkswagen. Can I dispute on the grounds that the make of car was incorrect on the ticket.

    No need to dispute it. Throw it in the bin and forget about it. If they come after you, ask them to check the details against the DVLA database which will show the wrong vehicle make. They can't then enforce it as there's doubt as to what vehicle it pertained to.

    Vauxhall and Volkswagen seem to be commonly confused. Only today a tannoy in Morissons the woman was asking for the owner of a Vauxhall Passat.
