Sky Plus wont record

Im having problems with my sky plus it doesnt seem to let me record any programmes it just comes up failed, it also on screen will say no satillite being received with a code 28?????

Cant get through to sky lines always busy!!!:mad:

anyone have any ideas??

Have you tried turning off, leaving for a few min, wiping the card and turning back on. Whenever I call SKY - this is what they suggest over the phone.

Thanks for your reply, I have tried all that as I know thats what sky would ask me to do but had no joy.

Ring sky up. I get through right way everytime I call. Dont call at 6pm, 1pm etc as most people are likely going to call.

Have you checked to see if you have good signal/quality

There is 2 cables that come from your dish (LNB) to your receiver if one signal is very poor or none existing, you can get lots of failed recording....

Check on sky ... Services.....System Setup......Signal Test....

Signal strength /Signal Quality on ...Input 1.....should be about the same as......Input 2

You might have to reset the box.

Their is a hidden Menu.
Press "Services"
Then "4"
Then "0"
Then "1"
Then "Select"

Their is an option to reset the system. This will wipe all saved programs.. But it may get things working again. It may take a few mins when you run it..
