Not sure if I'm putting this in the right place, but I have a little way of cutting the cost of replacing exhausts and car batteries etc.
If they come with a 1, 2, 3 year guarantee, I make a note in my Outlook diary a few weeks before the guarantee runs out. I go back to the garage, ask them to check the exhaust battery or whatever, and very often they say it needs replacing. I then, and only then, produce my guarantee! Each time I've done this I've managed to get a new exhaust, thus extending the life of the original by another year or 2.
It's just a little bit of organisation, going a long way. Outlook gives me reminders of appointments anyway, so I just log it in the calendar well ahead.
So, go see if you have any guarantees about to run out - on anything, or make a few notes in your calendar for the future.

Hello bj-sailaway
I hope you don't mind but I've moved your thread to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board, where it should get more views.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. No problem, I couldn't actually find a motoring board, so thanks for the directions!0
