Which Virgin Atlantic Credit Card

Hi looking at getting a virgin credit card to get points for plane trips. They offer a 'white' card and a 'black' card. The black card costs £115 per year but offers double the points of the white card. I spend around £6000 a year on the card. Which card would be more suitable?

The black card comes with 6000 free points while the white has 3000.

Hello,

This is a tricky one because you are really on the cusp of when the black card becomes a better deal. My opinion is go for white... This is why:

Based on 6k pa annual spend
Black = £115 a year, but would earn 12000 miles per year
White = £0 a year, but would earn 6000 miles per year

However, on Virgin Atlantic's website you can BUY miles and the current cost of buying 6000 miles is £105

So You would save £10 a year by taking the white card and buying the miles instead. Plus i think the white card is typically 17.9% and the black is 18.9% (excluding annual fee)

This doesnt take into account the signup bonus. But 3000 miles costs you £60 if you wanted that.

If I were you i'd be getting the white unless i spent £10k+ a year on the card, but thats just me :-)
