I received bills today for 3 months use of electricity and gas and the meters were read by the meter man. I always submitted accurate readings prior to that. I am a new customer and what a refreshing change. No messy bill, no standing charge, no discount for this and that and the other

£76 and £22 :D:D:D I am really really chuffed and all the energy saving things we have done (for a long time) have been very worth while. Energy saving bulbs everywhere (downlights and white light bulbs). All standbys off. No tumble drier. Wash at 30 when possible. Use a full steamer for 4-5 different veggies at once. They all add up. 3 bed, 3 year old town house. Very sunny large kitchen that we live in, lounge above and bedroom above that, internal doors all open and the warmth from the sun gets through the k glass and warms the house, even in january

The icing on the cake is ebico and its simplicity :T :T :T

Excellent, good for you! We recently switched to them and have no complaints at all, probably the best supplier we've had to date.

Had Scottish Gas phoning recently, although I'm never in, and when you redial the number it says it's some kind of marketing call. We're registered with the TPS, is there any way we can complain about these calls?

I can't complain about Ebico prices or billing either! :j

Interesting that Sol00 is suffering the same problem of unsolicited marketing calls from SSE that I experienced just after changing. There's a very simple way to stop these once and for all - call up Ebico CS (who are actually SSE) using their freephone contact number
    0800 096 6344
    and tell them to stop.
I've not had a single unsolicited marketing call from them since I did. :)

Hi Kitty....Yes Ebico Fab......got my equipower electric bill today..DD gone up from Jul 1 by £2 a month and clearly explained...0800 numbers all round. Direct debit discount is 6%, and after VAT ....10.80pence per kwh. Now have to find savings of £24 a year , probably from the gas side of things.
    Brilliant administration from Southern Electric.

    Eh, what's this Ken?

I didn't know there was any discount for DD. I thought their ethos was "1 price suits all". How did you get that?

    Edit:
found it! It's not actually a discount ;)
In certain circumstances, our partner companies’ computerised billing procedures automatically deduct a percentage from the bill for direct debit payment. But as you know, we don’t make reductions for those paying direct debit, because our customers all pay at the same rate.
In these circumstances, Ebico adjust the bill by adding a percentage to the rate first, so that when the deduction is made it comes out at the correct EquiGas or EquiPower rate.

kittie Any chance of some consumption figures from your bill, so we can see if you are actually getting a good deal or whether you are just deluded by ebico's niceness? ;)

Hi Premier it wasn't SSE, it's Scottish Gas who are calling (my previous supplier).

lol. Markymark. as an ex physics teacher, I am quite capable of working out my own units/kwh etc. Take it from me that the readings and bills are correct and no I am not deluding myself. I have been eco conscious for a very long time and doing the above seriously adds up. Another couple for my eco armoury: I have just bought an energy saving shower head. It is supposed to feel like a power shower but uses 75% less water (and consequently 75% less energy) and I have a remoska on the way and also a panasonic bread maker. There is no avoiding energy price increases as oil is on the match upwards but I can soften the impact

Ken, I agree re ovens. Mine arrived today and I made the most wonderful hotpot. I was very surprised at how light it is and how easily I found room for it. I made real muffins (enriched bread dough) on a griddle today and they puffed up to a good 1 1/2". Absolutely gorgeous and took 16 minutes to cook. Real bread and no oven needed for that either
