Nokia e61 - couple of problems?

Hi I have got nokia e61, and have had it for 2 yrs now. Been very happy with it and its has served m well. There are only a couple of things that started to annoy me recently. When I send a msg it takes ages to send. When I press send – it kind of freezes for about 3-4 minutes while it is sending and but after that it is fine. Another issue is every now and then it shuts off and restarts. It only takes about 15seconds but on ocassions it is annoying. I have been told that something inside overheats – which causes it to shut off, that makes it cool down and immidietly turns back on. Any idea whether and how it can be sorted?
My idea behind:D it taking a long time to send is having additional software loaded on – but I am not sure whether that’s the case, as I only have Route 6 sat nav loaded.
Another query – has any one got any software updates that can be installed on this phone – some funky add ons, and where I can find them? Thanks very much in advance.
And finally – whats the flash code for e61s?
