Who reads you final meter reading?

Hi I hope someone here can help, please!

We are due to change supplier this weekend (Sunday I think). We are moving from Npower to Scottish Power. The new supplier (SP) have asked us to send them a meter reading on Sunday. The question is- will this then automatically go to the old supplier (NP) to calculate our final bill, or will NP come round and take a reading themselves?

Many thanks in advance!

When you change supplier, all that normally happens is that you give the readings to your new supplier to start the billing from.

Your new supplier should pass these to your old supplier who will issue you a final bill based on those readings.

To avoid any possible confusion (e.g. a delay/loss in the new supplier providing your old supplier with the necessary readings), you can also give the same readings yourself to the old supplier.
