What to do with a few thousand short term (3-6 months)

I've just got a dividend which has left me with around 2k after I've put 5k into 2 halifax high interest accounts to max out the interest.
I need the money again in 3-6 months so I'm not looking at anything long term, is there anything worth doing with it to maximise any return, I know it won't be a lot but anything is better than the 0.1% interest it will be earning.
Any suggestions ?

Any of the on-line instant access accounts, will give you more than 6% at the moment, such as: Icesave or Kaupthing Edge would be ideal. More listed here at Moneyfacts.0
