Npower fixed tariff

Arranged online to go to Npower fixed tariff until 2011 through £30 cashback site. When the contract arrived today I could not see any mention of fixed price, so I rang them (not the 0845 number - use Say No to 0870) and was told I was on their bog standard tariff which could go up at any time. They offered to change it for me when the switch was finalised, but I would have nothing in writing saying I was a fixed customer. I therefore cancelled the transfer and went online again to try to become a fixed customer. I'll let you know if it goes through OK.

Be warned - check the contract when it arrives and make sure you are on a fixed tariff. Many people will just file the contract - so be vigilant, these power companies are very crafty

    This has just happened to me as well with npower...

    Signed up online for the fixed price 2011, but also just got their standard rate and no mention of a fixed rate. It doesn't give me much confidence in npower!!

    I'm currently waiting to speak to someone at npower using the number 01429 892326 number, but still holding!

    I also like the way they give you 14 days to cancel the contract, but take 11 days to send the letter!!

    I have just changed to the 2011 price fix this morning, you have to phone on 0800 107 9323, it took about 15 mins in all, you also get the option to have them phone you back if you don't want to hang on. It was all very simple.
