Received a letter from MBNA stating that copy statements are not included within the Data Protections and they are threfore not limited to a maximum charge of £10. They want £4 per statement.
Anyone else experienced this and is there a way around it????

You dont want copies of statments, you want a break down of all account conducted for however long as you have had the account and any other data or personal information they hold on you which they have to provide under the data protection act0

Only the most recent statement is free with MBNA, any other previous statements cost £4. However, you can view and print your last 6 months' statements online at anytime you like. Worth doing if you, like me, like to keep records in neat little folders at home for the taxman lol. You can also ask MBNA to send you a Year-end Report (I forget what they call it) which lists every single transaction you did in the past calender year. Also handy should the taxman cometh.0

The £10 max fee would be for a Subject Access Request (SAR)
It will show all your transactions for the last 6 years and any other info the bank holds on you, but the transactions may not be in the same layout as the statements. It will be the same info though. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
