Waterproof clothing for toddlers

I am toying with the idea of buying a lightweight waterproof jacket (like a kagool sp?) and some waterproof trousers for my toddler son.
We go out walking a great deal and my son always ends up getting wet from splashing in puddles etc so although I have wellies I'd like something to keep his legs dry etc.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Preferably not too expensive!
Are those all in one suits worth the money? My son is 2.5 years so would like to get something he could grow a into a little bit.

Thanks

^^ great quality product and service.

First time I got the little people all in one fleecy lined suits which only had a couple of outings as they got really hot in them (even in snow!) Last time I bought separate jackets and dungerees which have been used loads.

The sizing is a bit on the big side so pleanty of room for layers/growth. There is loads of adjustable velcro straps so you can make them fully water/wind -tight.

You can get over trousers but only in navy the last time I checked.

Once you know exactly what you want have a google (there are sometimes special offers on) or try ebay.

    Thanks for that ChasingButterflies.
I did wonder whether to go for size 3-4 since my son will be 3 in September but if you think the sizing is on the large side perhaps I'd do best sticking to 2-3 year size.
Will do some hunting on the net tonight as I'd really like him to have them when we go away on hols end of next week.

I did buy a cheapie mac from Sainsbury's but it's more shower proof rather than water proof so I wanted something that would definately keep the water out. With the heavy rain a couple of weeks ago I tried his little kagool and his fleece underneath got wet.

    Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

  • Hi again,

DD2 is currently in the age 2/3 (she is 3 1/2  - she quite small for her age!) If you want any actual garment measurements for either a jacket or the dungerees drop me a PM with what information you need and then you will have a better idea of the actual garment size in relation to your lo.

They are expensive I know but they are really well made (I wish they made them in Mum's size so that she could stay dry on the school run!)

I got one off ebay for my 2yr old. I brought it in 3-4 yrs old. It fits fine because it has elastic on the legs and arms.
