Understandable really, I know my problems are boring for other people, and it must be annoying to see me making no progress. Just suffering quite badly from brain mush.

No more annoying than the next persons

We have the choice whether we read and reply - you can usually see most of the post without having to even click into it.

It would be nice to have life all sorted and rosy, perhaps then we could all dismiss others problems as not important.

I think that was rude and there was no excuse for it. You post as much as you like, you have been given patient and good advice here from people who have respect and time for you.

    Ignore the losers.

OP, why do you think a single room wouldn't be suitable? (Serious question, not being nosey :))

My diagnosis is Borderline Personality Disorder and Social Phobia (amongst other things). I've got very bad anxiety, and the stress of being forced to be with people would be too much for me to bear. I imagine that I'd find it very hard to leave my room, and would be worried all the time about what people think of me. I struggle to relate and interact with people. I don't deal with people well, and allow myself to get very upset and react negatively (inwardly - if someone upsets me, I'll never tell them, I just cut).

I don't know about the room situation, sorry, but I'm wondering why you are getting no ongoing help?

If you don't mind me asking, did you mean Borderline Personality Disorder when you said you had BPD in an earlier post? ETA: you answered while I was thinking about my post!

Have you had any help from the mental health team in the past, or received any talking therapy at all? Or are you on any waiting lists for specific help with your problems?

I ask because I'd have thought you should have more input than you are currently getting, but then I also know how BPD is perceived by many health professionals, and your other problems are quite specific in their own right too. I wonder if you are falling through the net becasue they can't decide which problem to help you with iyswim?

There must be something they can do for you though! Have they given you reasons for the lack of help/support?

SSRR doesn't mean you have to live with anyone else, it just means that they won't pay for anything bigger than a single room (a bedsit normally).

Has DBT been suggested to you at all? It seems quite promising for BPD but is not widely available unfortunately.

I see a Pyschiatrist, but the waiting lists are closed in my area so i'm not able to have any therapy.

Not had any talking therapies, just four types of antidepressant.

I have a referal the the ED Clinic, but I don't think they'll help me as I'm not properly bulimic. OH refused to give me a lift, so I missed my appointment, so I don't know if they'll let me have another one.

My Pysch says I need CBT and DBT, then pyschotherapy. The waiting list for CBT and DBT are closed because the therapist is fully booked for the next two years. I cannot be refered out of area. I cannot have pyschotherapy while I'm self-harming.

A bedsit would be fine (fantastic even!), I didn't realise that. I'll look into it. Thank you :)

Have you asked if you can have a CPN, or do they have any daycare facility in your area, where you could see a mental health nurse regularly?

I know it's not ideal but at least it would be some sort of regular support for you.

Have they given any indication of when the waiting lists may be opened again?

Now that is a bizzare situation, don't you think?

Self harmers have to stop doing the thing they need help for, before they can get the help!

I thought that ridiculous notion had died during the 80s/90s but clearly not!!

Sorry, my opinions are probably not helpful but it makes me so cross!!
