Appealing a Parking Charge Notice (private car park)?

Options
Hi,

Our local supermarket's car park is controlled by Euro Car Parks. Somewhat stupidly, my wife parked there the other day, didn't have any cash on her, so didn't buy a ticket. Returning half an hour or so later, she found a Parking Charge Notice had been left on the vehicle. Fair enough.

But, the penalty on the ticket is for £50, reduced to £30 if paid in 14 days. However, all of the signs at the car park say that the penalty is £25 (and I have photos to prove that). Do you think this is a legitimate reason for appeal?

Thanks,
Matt
