Have read back the thread. I am impressed by Oranges technical achievement in running this race OK one or two little glitches, but some compy sites  (not as technically demanding in my opinion) have fallen over completely and for days. So from me hats off to the Orange techies :T:T:T
Just my opinion but I have always thought Reginald had at least two, maybe several at the helm. Makes sense – how many was the holiday for, they could all go. Also that they were dedicated computer game payers. You know the sort who love to spend their time getting to level humpty squillion in zombiecarft 3 or whatever.
On the first day I was 12th at one point, and ended up 33rd but I slept, went to work, did other compys (had a life:p OK not really). Our greyskittles was 3rd for most of the race and single handed :T I don’t think it necessarily proves anything if the winner knows someone at Poke. Would it have been wrong for them to say we have a game coming up that you guys might like
This game is a big success for Poke, I just can’t see them jeopardising that. So obviously I can’t disprove a conspiracy, just my thoughts on it
The one thing I do think might have been a bit better was the size and distribution of prizes. £16,000 for a holiday in Ibiza  I would love to win a holiday, but £16,000 would feel like a waste (I could do with the cash). So do think smaller top prize and some prizes for 2nd 3rd a least. And bigger prizes for people with starsOh that’s me isn’t it

Yes I agree completely with you about distribution of the prizes. Perhaps there should be something for the top 5/10??? it might make it even more competitive as seeing one person so far out ahead might have meant some people didn't bother trying.
If they do it next year it could be renamed "the annual Orange internet balloon race" assuming they'll still do the animal packages for tariffs by then!!
I also liked seeing the adverts on tv for the packages with all the balloons in, maybe next year it could reference the balloon race in them? goodness, must have my thinking cap on, must be time to get back to work, my brain obviously needs a bit of a workout!!! More ideas..... for the first say 1000 people who register it would be cool to send them an actual balloon to blow up in their chosen animal before the race started?! and also for somewhere on the site to say how many people had signed up so far and a bigger leaderboard throughout the race, maybe top 30?? (loved the top 500 at the end) etc...... I really need a job in marketing:rotfl: it could get bigger and better each year. Really unique idea, good one Orange!!!!
