Hi, me and hubby are fed up with Credit Expert, they don't seem to help resolve anything.
For instance, more than TWO months ago, my hubby paid the final amount owing on an HSBC credit card. The account had actually gone to their in- house collections at MCS. He paid the full amount owing and they said they would up-date their records with the CRA's.
Guess what? 2 months on, still not done, Credit Expert put a 'notice of correction' on. We got a letter back from Experian saying, HSBC say their records are correct, won't update?

I then sent for hubby an attachment to Credit Expert, a letter to say balance had been paid, this letter was from MCS, another email today from Credit Expert saying they can't help:mad:
To me. Credit Expert are more pro their Creditors' as clients, they haven't helped at all.
So, my hubby is cancelling his £6.99 subscription.
Sorry for the rant, but HSBC soon put a default on his credit files.

No offence but it's not really Credit Experts fault... I'd chase your bank to make sure they update the records with Experian/Credit Expert to show the debt as settled.
This can take a while if the DCA are dragging their heels or more than likely they are as useless at updating their records with the original creditor as they are at obtaining the CCAs... :)
    Good luck tho!

Credit Expert can't really do anything unless they do an investigation after the creditor has not responded. Do HSBC still say that there is an amount owed? If so, i would contact MCS for clarification of this, or possibly a SOA to get all the account details they hold.

If this is not the case, it often takes between 1-3 months for comapnies to update credit files. It might be getting processed.

I agree. A CRA is only a reporting agency on data provided to them by the creditors.

Unless any incorrect information is directly the CRA's fault, then the most they can do is mark records as being in dispute while they query them.

You need to deal with the creditor directly to sort it out. If they refuse, then you may have to put in a complaint to the ICO.

Read though page 19 onwards of this.

I always believed a CRA was responsible for what they actually had on you, as it could be disastrous. They have been sent proof the debt is fully paid and they still harp on that HSBC are correct!
HSBC have been contacted and they don't do anything, as Experian have proof the debt was paid in full, they should now amend their files.
    It just annoys really!

Have now got a Mr Singh's email address:rolleyes: will email him, can't see why more than two month's on they can't update a file. Took em 2 weeks to put it on:mad:

Also, thanks fermi have read the article you said to read, if it comes to it I will write to ICO but why can't they just amend the file (Experian) when they have the proof?
