M&S are upto their old tricks again, ordered alot of things on the WEd night as slae items were listed after the nod from someone on here, received 1 item afew days ago then got the Dear John email today saying that they were sorry but none of the remaining 7 items were in stock despite me possibly being one of the 1st to order, not very impressed as messed me around so much last yr told them wouldn't buy from them again. Upto their usual tricks i see.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. How do you know you were one of the first to order? Out of all of the people ordering, there is no way to tell.
Shops sell out of stock. It happens. Get over it, and yourself while you're at it.0 -

Choc, normally I would agree with you but M&S has serious IT issues when it comes to sales. It uses the Amazon platform with 15 minute stock updates. It means if a surge of people buy in a 15 min interval if they go out of stock before the interval ends they won't realise and lots of customers will "think" they got the items.
It takes days and days of manual processing before the customer is told. At Christmas I made three orders. Half my third order was cancelled in May and the remainder turned up in June.
I still use M&S but my expectations are zero.
And I know this is off topic for this thread but customers who successfully get allocated sales still have the HDN hurdle to jump.0 -

Looks like the OP knows how M&S works, so why would s/he continue to use a bad service?0 -

Perhaps she likes their clothes? When she gets them;)
Seems a fair comment from the op to me. No need to be so abrasive.0 -
Yeah I like M&S clothes and as long as you expect nothing, you can't go wrong!
I also think they will get around to sorting this out one day... it's been a long time though.
They also take so long to delivery sometimes that quidco pays out before the stuff arrives... or doesn't.0
