  • estimates are acceptable but only up until 30 sept, actual figures are then required. if the advisor has noted the income as an estimate you could see your money stop

  • I can beat that! I've just had a bill for over £4000! If you ring their Overpayments office they will make arrangements over much longer than the 12 months they tell you. They will do a quick income assessment over the phone and spread the cost out - over years if necessary. One other thing I found out - if you have been in receipt of Incapacity Ben since before 13 April 1995 they are not supposed to regard it as income but mistakes happen!
