Replacing rusted on toilet seat - help!!!

Can anyone advise me how to loosen some disgusting, rusted-on wing nut attachments on the back of a toilet seat? I've sprayed with WD40 but still they won't budge. I'm not too sure which way to undo anyway! I always thought it was righty tighty, lefty loosey
Any help out there pls?

Leave the WD40 to soak overnight, then use a set of molegrips to turn the wing nuts clockwise (looking from the front of the WC).0

Just cut them off, using a hacksaw blade with a cloth on it so that wont cut your hand:T0

leave it to soak with vinegar......i used this method and it worked better than wd400

oh you can try and work the vinegar in with a brush.0

Thanks to all of the above.
I have left the WD40 to soak overnight and will attempt to remove later today (not at home at the mo) failing that I'll try the vinegar. I've had to use a hacksaw once before and as access is tight, I hope it doesn't come to that this time!!!0 -
Penetrating oil may be your only option, again, leave to soak.;)0
