Not sure if i'm in the right place. Bought a Garmin nuvi200 today with 30 day free trial on safety camera's the guy in the shop said he got the same sat nav and if i know the website you can get unlimited safety camera alerts for life for free. I am all for saving money and it will be handy for me travelling from England to Scotland about 5 times a year, if you know the A1 road you know what i mean.

    As this site is for money savers, why not share the free camera alert site with us?

    As this site is for money savers, why not just slow down for speed cameras (or god forbid stick to the limits)

    The gatsos are bright reflective yellow and red, not hard to miss

    I don't know of a legal site to get camera alerts for free, plenty of illegal ones though. However the ones at https://www.pocketgpsworld.co.uk cost £19 a year and are better than the manufacturers ones. If you report a new camera to them then you get free updates for life. The pocketgpsworld ones also incluse the sites that are regularly used for temporary cameras.

    As I stated in my original post i do not want it to 'check speed cameras' but to check traffic updates. I have held my license for over 20 years and have NEVER had a speeding ticket, i am very proud of that. I would rather get there in one piece than not at all. I just think that Garmin charge a lot for what others get for little or nothing.
    I know they are bright yellow but if you have to look out for them then your obviously going faster than you should.......right or wrong.

    Sure Gatso's are and if you get done then fair enough but have you ever tried to see the high mounted front facing truvelo cameras at night, no chance. I have been driving 27 years and never had a point but if it were not for my Tom-Tom I would have lost my licence on 1 journey in Nottingham.

    I supose I could always slow down :rolleyes: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    I have never seen the high mounted cameras and agree that you could set off one day with a clean licence and return the same evening with a ban As usual the motorist is the easiest target, saves lives my ar** there are as many accidents on the A1 (the road i use a lot) as there was before cash machines for the government appeared.

    But your original post said

    the guy in the shop said he got the same sat nav and if i know the website you can get unlimited safety camera alerts for life for free.
    <snip>
    Safety Camera = Speed Camera

    Your original post did not mention traffic updates. :confused:
