Craft Fairs

Options
Afternoon all :hello:

Can one of you clever people tell me how I can find out where Craft Fairs are being held in my region? I have done web searches but only seem to find a few listed (plus sites that I have to pay to subscribe to, to get the info). I keep an eye on the local papers and have checked various craft magazines (though they only seem to advertise the BIG ones, like the NEC etc).

I am so fed up with my job (and likely to be made redundant soon anyway) and I would like to try and earn (at least a bit of) my living selling crafts. I would be very grateful for any info/advise. I have tried bootsales (can't charge enough) and our local market already has a couple of stalls selling same stuff.

Thanks.

I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle

Nice find. I've added the site into the Craftwork section of the MEGA Index.

  • Have you been to the Sunday craft fair down by the river in Stratford upon Avon? Lots of small stalls, and a lot of the stuff is quite cheap so I doubt the stall fees are extortionate. Always loads of people there as well.

you could always ask crafters which other fairs they go to or know of.

Does you local Council have an enterprise-help scheme? They may be able to let you know of somewhere that people they have helped set-up a small business sell their crafts.

How about trying your local library or some galleries, they often have posters with lists of dates for craft fairs. Also the Tourist Board may know of other regular dates.

    Good luck:D
