Electricity emergencey credit - Help!
Hi there
I have an older style token meter for my electricity, there is only one black button on it, non specifically for emergency credit. According to the booklet I got from British Gas and other sites on the web, it says that to get emergency credit you have to press the orange or blue button!? Will the EC automatically go on when it falls below a certain amount? (When I press the one and only button a few times it does display that there is £5 EC on it)
It's really annoying as there are no shops near by that sell tokens, I forgot to buy some when I was out earlier today, doh.
Many thanks in advance

It's been a while since I've used a pre-payment meter but if I remember correctly, you need to keep an eye on the current credit.
For electric, once that falls below £1.00, you can press the EC button and that will effectively add £5.00 to your available balance.
The next time you top up, the meter is updated, first paying off any EC used (giving you the £5.00 EC facility back) and putting you back on normal credit."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Contact British Gas and they will arrange to change to a key meter. Tokens are being with drawn so all meters are to be changed.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
