Autoaid - Any good for motorcyclists?

Im thinking of changing from the AA to Autoaid as have read many good reviews. Was wondering how motorcyclists feel about the service. Road side repairs/speed to supply suitable truck for relay etc. OH has bike I have car, hope this policy suits both.

I haven't had to use mine, but if you and OH are married then you only need one policy, so it's a real bargain.

How big is the bike? I don't think they cover small ones.

As regards the acutal service, AutoAid are just an insurance company and pay out the claims, they do not acutally provide the service. This would be provided by local garages, so the service you get will be as good as the local garage i.e. variable.

In my view it's a cracking deal especially if you are married but I've never had to use mine.

RAC cover bikes, so me and the wife have joint any-vehicle cover paid for with Tesco Clubcard vouchers. This covers my bikes and her car as well as any other vehicle we may be a passenger in. Absolute bargain.

What value of clubcard vouchers do you need?

It varies based on what cover you want. We have RAC Roadside / Recovery / At Home Joint which was £43.75 in clubcard vouchers for a year.

I am more interested in the quality of service than the cost. When I have had a breakdown, found RAC are better than AA and Green Flag were !!!!!!.

RAC European cover is free with Carole Nash

I believe Green Flag use local garages (at least they did when I used them but it was a while ago).
I had bad service too, in fact I claimed £300 off them for damage to my car.

With local garages the service is bound to be variable.

I think I agree with you that a dedicated service like RAC and AA will probably be better, however I use AutoAid because of the cost and the likelhood of a call out.
I've not used my breakdown for 4 years, so for me there is a trade-off.

One hopes never to need breakdown insurance. On a motorcycle, punctures are a nightmare..... Yes, I do carry a puncture repair kit.

I get RAC European cover for free, with Carole Nash. Can't get much cheaper than that? However, IMHO saving a few pounds on any type of insurance can be false economy.
