Share transfer husband/wife

We've got a few hundred pound's worth of shares in Friends Provident that my husband ended up with after demutalisation (by accident really - he asked to sell them immediately but it wasn't done).

We've hung on to them since, but my husband is getting close to the higher rate tax band, so I was thinking it would make more sense for them to be in my name to keep our tax affairs simpler.

What do we have to do to transfer the shares to my name - is it just a case of filling in a form for Equiniti? Is there anything we should be be aware of? (Capital Gains Tax is not an issue for either of us).

He just needs to fill in the stock transfer form following the instructions and send it with the certificate if you have one to the registrars. The consideration needs to be shown as "Nil" and transferred as a gift category "L". Should be no charge by the registrars for doing it..
