Oh dear Tim :".more often than not customers are wrong."
Hollydays, remind me, have you ever worked in customer service?
Now I wasn't on about what people should be doing/thinking or "best practice" if you like. I was more making an observation, which I very correctly pointed out people may not like to achknowledge/believe which some comments after I wrote that prove. But at the end of the day it's an observation and it's true.
People seem to get confused when people write observational comments thinking they mean thats the way they think things should be done. I didn't say this is "best practice" or how to deal with customers, it's just my own personal observation.
At the end of the day here the member of staff should have made the customer feel right (which technically wasn't true from what I can read which others have noted) even though they weren't. Now as I said technically you need to lie to them about whether they're correct or not to make them happy. I know people find this offensive but it's true!
It seems you can't write things like this (viewing a customer as wrong) nowadays without people being up in arms about it!0 -
THere is one thing for sure-YOU haven't worked in customer service..I have had several jobs that involved customer service.Perhaps you could divide up your comments into "this is observational" and "this is me having a vent at an OP on the vent board-yet again"0
