We're doing something simple for the end of term - each teacher (9 between two kids) will get a box of chocs and a little gift bag of smellies. I'm hoping my marigolds do well over the coming weeks and I can make some handcream for them all, but if not, the boys have their eyes on some sets in Boots that we can split up (and I have plenty of points).

The boys will make tags for each teacher and helper to personalise each gift, and they usually help with some baking for the staffrooms too.

It is DS2s last term at playgroup, so I'd like to try to get a little extra done for there, but not sure what, so I'll keep an eye on this thread

  • How about a plant pot filled with seeds, maybe a trowel and gloves? (poundland does a pretty set) And a little hand made tag saying 'thankyou for helping me grow' :) You could wrap in cellophane or just pop into a gift bag/box.:)

we are making hot choc mugs for the teachers - hand decorated white mugs, hot choc sachet, marshmallows and a choc bar wrapped in cellophane.
ds1 is making a hot choc/pamper basket for his teacher as she is also leaving the school.

What about making some biscuits. Your LO can help roll and cut out, put into nice cellophane gift bags. Hand out a few days b4 the end of term if you want so they can have them with their tea in the staff room.

When my son left nursery I bought each of the teachers a necklace or a bracelet. The necklaces were in M and S sale and were about £3 each and the gemstone bracelets about the same. I made sure before hand that I had a good idea of their style and colours that they wore so I could chose appropriately.

That is a really lovely idea. We are moving at the end of term, my daughter has only been there for 1 term and I really want to get her teachers something nice as they really went out of their way to help us.

I'll be going to poundland this week!:j

I took this Idea, but decided against the plant pots, as when I was shopping in morrisons saw some little cacti (3 for 1.99) so bought them instead, but will still be using the quote "Thanks for helping me grow"

    Thanks again for the idea.

My son is leaving junior school and going to "big" school, his teachers have been exceptionally nice this year and so are getting one of these each altered notebooks made by myself. (sorry dont have any piccys yet). I have printed some school things off free from the cannon website or hewlett packard website and altered my own version with a picture of my son on the front. All i need to do is attach a pen to them and would of only cost me the price of a book £2 and a pen. Hopefully they will use them all year.
